Hands-On Farm Tour

Join us for an immersive, guided walk through the farm, where you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how our vegetables and flowers are grown, harvested, and cared for from seed to table.

July is a season of lush growth, abundant fields, and warm, golden mornings — and there’s no better time to explore the full rhythm of the farm and step into the height of summer.

Details

Saturday, July 18th from 9:00 to 11:00

Location: Campo Farm and Kitchen

For those ages 15 and older

Our time together will begin at the start of the farm where Katie will share the story of Campo Farm and Kitchen, including its origins, guiding values, and regenerative practices that shape everything we do.

From there, we’ll walk through the field together, experiencing peak summer on the farm while discussing the no-till practices and soil-building techniques we rely on. Walking through the rows, you’ll get to see up close how crops are started, transplanted, and harvested. We’ll then tour the native plants hedgerow, peek into the high tunnels to see trellised tomatoes and cucumbers, explore how crops are cleaned, processed and cooled in the wash station, and wander the blooming perennial gardens.

Returning to the fields, we will hold a group tutorial on growing and harvesting one of the farm’s most beloved crops: carrots. You’ll then have the opportunity to harvest your own bunch, take it to the wash station, and clean it using the same tools we rely on each week.

This workshop is perfect for home gardeners looking to learn tips and tricks, Campo customers wanting to feel more connected to the source of their food, aspiring farmers interested to see the behind the scenes of a local operation, or anyone eager to spend a summer morning outdoors with likeminded community.

Each person will head home with their freshly-bunched carrots and a bag of Campo-grown greens.

Bring your questions! We look forward to welcoming you and covering everything of interest to you.
